Manufacturer of industrial 3D printers 3D systems announced a whole host of new products for its additive manufacturing business.
The launch includes two new laser 3D printers, the SLA 750 and SLA 750 Dualas well as the new Accura AMX Durable Natural 3D printing resin, the PostCure 1050 post-processing system and the new Oqton Manufacturing OS to tie it all together.
Designed to address every step of the 3D printing workflow, the complete package is designed for large-format, high-volume production applications in industries such as automotive, consumer goods, aerospace, and manufacturing. health. According to 3D Systems, its new product suite can enable SLA batch production at up to three times the throughput of competing resin 3D printing platforms.
“I see the launch of this new platform – which includes a dual synchronous laser option, Accura materials and the specialized curing oven – as an example of how we are executing a comprehensive AM strategy that focuses on our points. strong,” said Dr. David Leigh, executive vice president and chief technical officer for additive manufacturing at 3D Systems.
The SLA 750 and SLA 750 Dual 3D printers
3D Systems’ latest printers aim to combine size, speed, and resolution for high-performance end-use applications. Available in two configurations, the SLA 750 contains a single 4W laser while the SLA 750 Dual is a dual laser system to double the print speed. The former is fully upgradable in the field to the latter.
With a build volume of 750 x 750 x 550mm, the SLA 750 Series is 15% larger than previous 3D Systems models. The systems are also equipped with self-calibrating dual rail cappers to improve process reliability and part quality.
Additionally, the company has integrated what it calls Hyper-Scan vector technology, a proprietary scanning algorithm that optimizes parameters such as laser focus, vector engine power and kinematics.
On the software side, SLA 750 systems will include 3D sprint, an all-in-one software for print preparation and optimization. They will also use the new cloud-based, AI-powered Oqton Manufacturing operating system to allow users to plan production processes, as well as connect to other machines for full traceability on the shop floor. .
Accura AMX durable natural 3D printing resin
To complement the SLA 750 systems, 3D Systems has also expanded its material range with the new Accura AMX Durable Natural resin. Combining impact resistance, tear resistance and high elongation at break, the material is designed to withstand high mechanical loads and repeated shocks.
The company has already tested the material to ASTM D4329 and ASTM G194 standards for indoor mechanical performance for up to eight years and outdoor weather stability for up to 1.5 years. The resin is also isotropic and offers stress/strain characteristics similar to standard thermoplastics.
Accura AMX Durable Natural is well suited for printing large and complex mandrel tooling cores for cooling ducts, pipes and manifolds.
PostCure 1050 post-processing station
Finally, the new PostCure 1050 is an industrial post-processing system capable of drying and curing large batches of resin parts at high speeds. The station has a treatment volume of 1050 mm x 750 mm x 600 mm.
Designed to deliver 5x faster cure times than competitive post-cure systems, the PostCure 1050 features long-lasting LED light sources, consistent 360° light uniformity, detection and automatic light failure alerts and a one-step light output calibration routine. Users can also change the UV intensity and adjust the heat of the actively cooled LEDs.
PostCure 1050 is compatible with all resin 3D printers and materials from 3D Systems.
Technical specifications and prices
Below are the technical specifications of the SLA 750 3D printer – the SLA 750 is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2022, while the SLA 750 Dual is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022. Contact 3D Systems for a quote.
