New Formlabs 3D printers are 40% faster

Formlabs, one of the few companies turning 3D printing into a practical and useful tool, is here at CES to show off two new printers. The Form 3+ and 3B+ are updates to models launched in 2019, with those units described as its “fastest 3D printers yet”.

New for 2022 include higher intensity lasers, new material settings, and faster, more durable hardware, with a promise of 40% faster prints. It also comes with Build Platform 2, an updated deck for crafting that makes it easier to delete prints when they’re complete.

At the same time, the company presents ESD Resin, which allows you to build components that dissipate electrostatic discharges. This should, Formlabs hopes, open up new opportunities for prints that can be used in the electronics industry and other high-tech operations.

The Form 3+ and 3B+ will cost the same as the models they replace, $3,499 and $4,850 respectively, and you’ll be able to buy it sometime today and shipping will begin immediately.
