Pix4D Launches Survey-Grade 3D Modeling on Mobile Devices with RTK Accuracy

Lausanne, Switzerland, [April 27, 2021]Pix4D, the industry leader in photogrammetry, today announces the commercialization and exclusive worldwide distribution of the viDoc RTK rover, enabling RTK-quality ground-based 3D scanning with iOS mobile phones and tablets via the Pix4Dcatch app .

Designed by viGram GmbH., a German company run by professional surveyors, the viDoc RTK rover is designed with precision in mind and works with Pix4Dcatch for image acquisition. The handheld RTK rover replaces more expensive ground surveying equipment that does not compromise accuracy to achieve actionable 3D results.

The viDoc RTK mobile, synchronized with Pix4Dcatch, geolocates the images of a 3D scan in real time, while being connected to any NTRIP service. Extensive research has revealed that it is possible to make 3D models with an absolute geolocation accuracy of less than 5cm (see the white paper here).
