XR Bootcamp: MAYA launches into 3D modeling

Learn the basic Maya tools and skills needed for: modeling, animation, rigging, and texturing.
You will learn how to create real, fictional 3D or 2D models to use for all practical and artistic purposes. You will create animation, rigging and texturing models. The goal is to learn the basics and create something interactive, fun, and comprehensive.

Maya any version 2018 or higher required
The computer must have 8 GB of RAM (preferably not Mac)
Mouse required
Full program: $250

Week 1 – Introducing CG and Introduction to Maya
Week 2 – Modeling & UVing
Week 3 – Introduction to materials, textures, lighting and rendering
Week 4 – Texturing in practice
Week 5 – Lighting and rendering in practice
Week 6 – Introduction to post-production

Meet the Instructor:
Damian Thorn-Hauswirth is a Florida-based digital artist specializing in 3D content creation. Damian attended the University of Central Florida for his undergraduate degree in Digital Media – Visual Language. He returned to UCF and earned his master’s degree in animation and visual effects by completing his virtual reality thesis film, Castle of Unknowing. With an initial love for video games, he created motion graphics for fine art auction house Phillips to 3D visual effects and simulation for Lockheed Martin. Damian has three chickens, two cats, a rabbit and a small garden which he takes care of when he is not working on the computer.
